Pickle Street Players

Pickle Street Players was formed in 2023 in a collaboration between Dave and fellow writer Louise Gethin. Initially its aim was to provide actors for the Bristol One Act Drama Festival wherein their jointly-written plays Three Women A Corpse And A Porter and Take Mrs Morris were performed. Previously in the one act festival, Louise, as part of the Kelvin Players, directed another jointly-written play Go Gentle. In forming Pickle Street Players, our intention is to build a body of actors with which to perform independently our future collaborations.

Many thanks to both Simon and Fiona for their tireless work.

'Hardly The Bard (Forsooth!)'

'Hardly The Bard (Forsooth!)' is a gently blood-splattered comedy of love, lust and betrayal (not necessarily in that order) written by Dave Peak and Louise Gethin. The play was performed at the 2026 Bristol One Act Drama Festival, and again as part of the Kelvin Players' Homecoming event in March of that year.

Embedded within this play, a second play, 'From Bonking To Bodkin' is performed by a small theatre group - no stranger to intrigue themselves.

We join 'From Bonking To Bodkin' in its third and final act...

'Hardly The Bard (Forsooth!)' was directed by Louise Gethin.
