A bit about Dave

David Peak, Dave Peak, author

Dave started writing at the age of twelve and has written consistently since. In the 1980’s he studied for an MA at the University of East Anglia under Malcolm Bradbury and went on to lead Fiction Writing Workshops at various university and college sites in and around Bristol for many years. His first novel No. 4 Pickle Street was published in 1988 to critical acclaim.

The Cotoneaster Factor was published in 1990 and Go Gentle in 1991, both well received.

After a publishing (but not a writing) lull, Miss Woo Country came out in 2016, Curious Things Etc in 2017 and Aphrodesia, in 2019. Meanwhile, a novel which had been dormant for some time – The Elephant Box – was finally published as an E Book. All of these novels are available in varying formats through www.davepeak.co.uk

In recent years Dave has been working on a new, multi-volume novel. To date, four volumes - Earthling, Earthling Too, Earthling Free and Earthling Four (Ever) have been published. A fifth volume is in progress. The first four volumes are available in softback and as e-books.

He continues a fruitful comedy/drama writing collaboration with fellow writer Louise Gethin. Details of all of their joint works are available on the website. These include Endangered Species, a black comedy series of six one hour episodes; Yesterday’s Messiah, a situation comedy of six half-hour episodes; Dead Reckoning, a black comedy-drama of six half-hour episodes; Go Gentle a one-hour black comedy for radio and Three Women, a Corpse and a Porter a thirty-minute darkly-comic stage play. Adaptations of both Go Gentle and Three Women, a Corpse and a Porter have been performed at the Bristol One Act Drama Festival.
